Mark B. Anderson's Obituary
Mark Brian Anderson, 46 years of age, and after a battle with cancer, passed from death into life eternal with our Lord on Saturday, April 21st. Born September 15, 1965 in Boulder, Colorado, he spent most of his childhood years in different locations around the world and stateside as the son of an Air Force officer. Locally, Mark attended Omro High School, then Oshkosh West, where he graduated in 1983. After enlisting as a Marine, he proudly served his country in Okinawa and stateside for four years and was honorably discharged in 1987. He worked in Sales for the Oshkosh Northwestern for a number of years, specializing in the automotive market. In his most recent job with Ledgeview Partners in Appleton, Wisconsin, Mark specialized in CRM software sales and support. He also continued taking college classes over the years.
Mark is survived by the light of his life, 9 year old Ashley; by his parents, Jean and Kenneth Anderson of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; and Maria Pilar and David Colon of Alexandria, Virginia; brother, sister-in-law and nephew, Eric, Kelley and Jacob Anderson of Katy, Texas; and his former spouse, Kris Anderson, of Appleton, Wisconsin. Additionally, Mark had other immediate and extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins, step-brothers and step-sisters) in the following locations: locally here in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Alexandria, Virginia; Austin, Texas; Deer Park, Texas; Dallas, Texas; and Madrid, Spain.
Mark loved each one in his family and made it a priority to spend time with them, especially to ensure Ashley would know and value her family as much as he did. Mark unselfishly gave of his time during his family members’ and friends’ times of need, whether it was health related or otherwise.
The family would especially like to extend thanks, gratitude and blessings to his best friends, Bonnie and Hal Williams, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, who lovingly cared for Mark in their home during his illness, including his last days under hospice care. Finally, thanks to Dr. Thomas Klinkhammer, the Michael Wachtel Cancer Center staff and to the Affinity hospice professionals who delivered loving and caring support during his final days. We will all miss Mark’s presence in our lives.
