She was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church, now Saint Jude the Apostle (Sacred Heart). Marlene enjoyed playing the piano, bowling, telling family history stories, a good joke, playing games on the holidays, going out to dinner, the Kentucky Derby, traveling, gambling with her son-in-law, traveling to Ireland with her daughter-in-law, eating salmon patties with her son, giggling with her daughter, and spending time with her family. She was deeply loved by her family.
She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren for lunch at Hardee’s, shopping, “pedal pushers”, spending time at grandma’s house on the holidays with dinner and rolls, opening Valentines with her, getting Hershey pie from Burger King, trick or treating by her house and having pizza afterward, playing games at grandma’s house at Christmas, and her calling all of us sugar foot.
