Mary Jane Schoblaske's Obituary
Mary Jane Schoblaske, age 94, of Oshkosh passed away on Wednesday afternoon February 4, 2015 at Evergreen Health Center. She was born in Oshkosh on June 26, 1920 the daughter of Alex and Helen (Philipp) Ostwald. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1938 and then graduated from Fox Valley Technical College in 1971 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She married Walter F. Schoblaske on May 2, 1942 at St. John's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Mary Jane worked for the food service at UW-Oshkosh, Leader Beauty Shop, Otto's Food Store and retired from Mercy Medical Center after 15 years as a LPN. She was a faithful member of St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church), Christian Women, Foresters, Lakeside Quilters and Volunteer at Mercy Medical Center. Mary Jane is survived by her son; Jon (Ann) Schoblaske of Tigard, Oregon. One son-in-law; Duane Oestreich and one daughter-in-law; Rosemary Schoblaske. Her grandchildren; Jeffrey (Rhonda) Oestreich of Appleton, Troy (Ashley) Schoblaske of Oshkosh, Alayna, Katie and Matthew Schoblaske of Tigard, OR and 5 great grandsons. Also, special mention to Delores Schwartz, Laurie Kleveno, Mimi Meyer, personal assistant Shelley Ingala as well as the staffs of Dr. Michael Knier, 2 North of Aurora Hospital and Household 5 of Evergreen Creekside South Rehab Facility. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Walter in 2001, one son; Tom, one daughter; Carol Oestreich, two brothers; Robert and Paul, one sister; Betty Kuklinski and special niece; Louise Boese. Mary Jane had a complete life full of family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances. She will always be loved and remembered by those with whom she came in contact. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at 11:30am at St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church on the corner of South Park & Oregon). Father Michael Warden will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10am until the time of Mass. Private committal services will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church), Oshkosh YMCA, Elizabeth Ann Seton Elementary School or the Oshkosh Foundation.
