Mary Kay (Spanbauer) Horsfall's Obituary
Mary Kay (Spanbauer) Horsfall, of West Allis, formerly of Oshkosh, passed away on December 10, 2014. She was born on August 24, 1952 in Oshkosh a daughter of Ralph and Neita Faye (Carpenter) Spanbauer. She attended Oshkosh High School and was a Dean’s list graduate of the University of WI, Oshkosh. She married Morley Horsfall on July 3, 1979. Mary was a teacher in the Fox Valley helping children with disabilities and had also worked for JC Penney. She was a breast cancer survivor of 33 years and was a very strong, determined woman who will also be remembered for how kind and how gentle loving of a person she was. Mary had many loves, but none stronger than that of her family. Her special nieces and nephews gave her great joy and she adored her many cats. Mary enjoyed playing violin, ballet and acting in plays. She is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her husband of 35 years, Morley; her father, Ralph Spanbauer; a sister, Lori (Russ) Schwandt; a brother, Ralph Spanbauer and fiance’ Kay Boss; and her son Jacob; nieces, Kristi (Tim) Valdez, and their children, Hailee, Alyssa Valdez; a niece, Kari (Cameron) Godsill and their son, Maxwell; a niece, Leah Schwandt; a nephew, Rustin Schwandt and fiance’ Lindsey Kettner; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Horsfall-Leech. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Neita Faye (Carpenter) Spanbauer; a brother, Frederick Spanbauer; a brother-in-law, Hubert Leech; a sister-in-law, Marion Horsfall-Foster many other aunts, uncles, other relatives. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. with the Rev. Robert Rosenberg officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
