Mary Ellen Wuest's Obituary
Mary Ellen "Mayme" Wuest, age 69 of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at Park View Health Care Center after 40 years with MS. She was born on July 17, 1944 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Leo and Gertrude (Heinzl) Duchatschek. Mary Ellen married Richard George Wuest on February 12, 1971. She had worked for the Oshkosh Corporation prior to her illness. She was diagnosed with MS in 1974. Mary Ellen greatly enjoyed knitting, collecting hickory nuts and playing cribbage. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her husband, Richard; a son, Mark (Dani) Wuest; a daughter, Amy (Boyfriend, Brian Coats) Wuest all of Oshkosh; three brothers, Leon (Cynthia) Duchatschek of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Daniel (Sandra) Duchatschek and John (Cindy) Duchatschek, both of Oshkosh; a sister, Lauren (Jerry) Prellwitz of Green Bay. She is further survived by two grandchildren, Riley and Turner Wuest; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services for Mary Ellen will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh with the Rev. Fr. William Van DeKreeke officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Wuest family at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. The family wishes to thank the staff at Park View Health Care Center for the excellent care that Mary Ellen received while there.
