Maureen Raddatz's Obituary
Maureen Raddatz, 61 of Oshkosh passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at UW Madison Hospital, from complications after surgery, surrounded by her family. She was born in Oshkosh, December 13, 1953 to Thomas and Marion (Sitter) Hansen. She married Timothy Walter on September 29, 1978 in Oshkosh. They had one baby girl, Kristin Walter, which was her whole world. Her husband preceded her in death. After a few years she married Donald Raddatz Jr. April 26, 1992. Who preceded her in death. Maureen took care of her family with so much love. She set such a wonderful example for her daughter and was so proud of her. She instilled good morales and values in her family. All while working as a registered nurse for Mercy Medical Center for 30 years. She treated her patients with such care and respect. She loved being a nurse. She was a breast cancer survivor. She had to retire due to being chronically ill. She received a new chance at life by having a double lung
transplant 7 1/2 years ago. She had incredible strength and perseverance throughout her entire life. She enjoyed reading, playing games, going out to lunches and dinners with family and friends. A special thing she enjoyed along with her mother, father, brother, and daughter were all of the summer vacations. So many great memories and so much laughter and fun. Maureen was a kind, loving, gentle soul and a special mother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Walter, by her brother, Tom Hansen, by her sister, Sharon Hansen (Randy Hentz) all of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 22, 2015 at 6:00pm at St. Raphael's Parish, the Rev. John Becker officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday from 4:00pm until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. Family wishes to thank the staff at UW Madison Hospital, especially the TLC nurses and doctors. Dr. Sonnetti, Dr. Meyer, and the rest of her wonderful transplant team. Also, all of the doctors and nurses over the years.
