May Schriber's Obituary
May Abbott (Ob) Schriber died Friday, July 10, 2015 at Evergreen Manor of natural causes. She was 93.
Born October 9, 1921, Ob was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh. She was the daughter of John and Inez (Sonstaggen)Sawtelle. She attended Lawrence College and married her high school sweetheart, Louis “Beefer” Schriber, in 1946. She was a member of Trinity Epsicopal Church and was a life long member of Oshkosh Country Club. She also belonged to Leisure Hour Art Club and the Oshkosh Yacht Club. Ob enjoyed gardening and reading, knitting and needle point for which she received awards and high accolades. She volunteered many hours with the cerebral palsy handicapped summer program and the Service League.
In the early 70's she acquired her real estate license and worked in the real estate business for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Schriber, her sister, Nancy McGuire, and her grand-daughter, Elizabeth Cummings. She is survived by her son, Dan Schriber, of Oshkosh and her two daughters, Dede Cummings (Steve) of Oshkosh, and Sisi Hedges (Harry) of Lakeland, Florida; four grandchildren; Adam Cummings (Janice) of Oshkosh; Anne Cummings (Donnie) of Redondo Beach, California; Louis Schriber III (Andrea) of Chicago; and Susie Silich (Joe), of Chicago; and five great-grandchildren. She will be interred at a later date at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery at a family ceremony.
