He was born in Oshkosh, WI on March 24, 1943 the son of Melvin and Shirley (Hitchcock) Davis.
Melvin served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He married Carole Tyson on September 6, 1969 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Melvin is survived by his wife, Carole (Tyson) Davis, his two daughters, Heather Davis, and

Mel was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: spending time with family, cooking
out on the grill, bowling with his buddies, playing the lottery, and cheering for the Packers.
Mel was a wonderful father and husband. There was nothing he would not do to help his
family when they needed him. Mel started his working careers by working with his father in
his bike shop, Oshkosh Cycle Shop until he joined the military. When he returned home after
his service of duty, he spent the remainder of his days working for Oshkosh Truck Corp until
he retired a few years ago. Memorial services will be held on Thursday January 15, 2015 at 3pm
at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12noon until the time of service. Military rites will be conducted at
the funeral after the memorial service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Medical Center, especially Dr. Baughman for
everything they did to help Mel over the last three years.
