Melvin Rymer's Obituary
Melvin Rymer, age 82, of Oshkosh, died Thursday May 9, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Oconto Falls WI on December 28, 1930 the son of the late Lee and Dorothy Regan Rymer. Mel married Violet Schmaltz on May 20, 1950. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2005. He retired from the Oshkosh Area School District in 1996. Mel was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a Jack of all trades, loved fishing, and was the only Bear fan in the family.
Mel is survived by two sons; Dennis, Steven (Carol) Rymer, of Oshkosh, one daughter, Kathy (John) Piller, Oshkosh, two brothers, David (Kathy) Rymer, Omro, Daniel (Dawn) Rymer, Coloma, one sister, Joyce Barkow, Redgranite, two grandchildren, Melissa (Doug) Stadtmueller, Oshkosh, Timothy (Tara) Piller, Oshkosh, and one great-granddaughter, Chloe. Mel is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory, one sister, Patricia Kunde, and one brother, Marlin Rymer.
Funeral services for Mel will be held in Fiss & Bills Funeral Home (865 S Westhaven) on Tuesday May 14, at 1:00PM with the Rev. Jeffrey Duquaine officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00AM until the hour of services. Mel's family wishes to extend a very special Thank you to Rev. Karen Jewell, and the Affinity Hospice nurses. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS A MEMORIAL WILL BE ESTABLISHED.
