Merwayne V. Peterson's Obituary
Merwayne V. "Pete" Peterson, age 72 of Oshkosh, passed away Tuesday evening, September 29, 2009 in the Aurora Medical Center. On April 27, 1937 he was born in Omro, the son of Arthur and Mabel (Luker) Peterson. Pete was a welder with the Block Iron and Supply in Oshkosh. He was a member of the Teamsters Local. Making bird houses, hunting, being in the outdoors and dining at "Mike's Place" and "Mr. Cinders" were among his hobbies. On April 11, 1959 he married Barbara Griswold in Oshkosh. She survives along with his children: Wanda (Bill) Felker, Linda (Brian) Dreyer, DuWayne (Brenda) Peterson, Tim (Belinda) Peterson and Doug (Kris) Peterson; his grandchildren: Jamie (Jon), Stephan (Donna), Josh, Adam, Greg, Alei, Tim Jr., Hannah, Matt, Zach, Nick, Morgan, Mitchell and Alyx; his great-grandchildren: Brandon and Adrian; his brothers: Delbert, Rexford and Winston Peterson and his sister: Drucilla Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Kenneth, Oscar and Rendal; his sisters: Erma Dean, Althea Behm, Grace Parker, Gertrude Whittmore and Marge Peterson; his grandson: Andrew Peterson and his great-grandson: Adrian Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, October 2, 2009 in the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Pete's grandsons: Stephan Felker, Josh Dreyer, Greg Felker, Tim Jr., Zach and Matt Peterson. Friends may greet the family from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2009 and 10 to 11 a.m., Friday in the funeral home.
