Michael Becker's Obituary
Michael G. Becker, 67, passed away surrounded by loved ones after a battle with cancer on January 11, 2012. He lived a rich life, and has left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Mike was born in Fond du Lac on July 16, 1944 to George and Dorothy (Chickiris) Becker.
Mike was best known for his smile, quick wit, and his stories. Mike had a way about him that lit up a room; he put people at ease and brightened the days of those who interacted with him. An avid card player, Mike especially loved cribbage, a love shared by his children, and is famous for his gloating smile when snapping his cards down and declaring ?new leader!?
His rich Catholic faith, which he shared with his wife Phyllis, guided him and helped give him perspective when dealing with the challenges he faced in life. Through his membership at St. Raphael Catholic Church, his time as past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, council # 8810 Omro-Winneconne, and time as Associate of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother, Franciscan Courts, Mike showed his devotion to God and Jesus Christ.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Becker; siblings Anne (Steve) Donahue, and Nicholas Beckergis, his children, daughters: Kristine (Donald) Coumbe, Angela (Jeff) Hohneke, and Bethany (Brian) Leigh; sons: Todd (Jessica) Becker, Zach (Veronica Binner) Vakirtzis, and Wade (Elizabeth) Becker; Phyllis? daughters; Victoria (Todd) Cichon, Jennifer (Tim) Ferch, and Stephanie (Eric) McCormick; and their many grandchildren. Preceding Mike in death are his parents George and Dorothy, and a sister, Bessie (Nick) Karegeannes.
