Michael Jay Moore's Obituary
Michael (Mike) Jay Moore fell into a peaceful sleep and woke up in his eternal home with his Savior on July 21, 2025. He was born on October 11,1962 in Carson City, Nevada to Richard J. Moore and Martha (Raschke) Swearingen . He was a graduate of Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1981. Mike was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He served from 1987-1992 including participation in Operation Just Cause. He also attended UW Stevens Point and Fox Valley Technical College for automotive mechanical training. Mike worked in food service for many years. The past 10 years he worked at Mercury Marine as a machine operator. Mike was a devoted sports fan who took great joy in cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers, especially in football, basketball, hockey, and volleyball. Saturdays were often spent watching Big Ten and Big 12 college football games, and he was a lifelong supporter of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Mike was a lifelong NASCAR enthusiast and rarely missed a race. Above all, his greatest passion was simply relaxing at home and spending quality time with his beloved family.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne Moore of 21 years. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. They have 2 children together, Liam Moore and Leah Moore. Ten months ago, he was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Lakelynn Brooks. He was previously married to Shannon Lauder to which whom they had 3 children: Michael Moore, Cody Lauder (Liz) and Dylan Lauder (Erin). He was also previously married to Wendy Moore. Mike also was blessed with 6 grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as Grandpa. Lakelynn (Leah), Riley, Rhett, Rocky and Ruzek Lauder, (Dylan) and Jameson Lauder (Cody)
He also leaves behind his brother Mark (Karen) Belli and sister Tina (Scott) Bernette. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Beverly Kennedy; brother-in-laws, Tim (Meg) Kennedy and John Kennedy; nieces Josi and Caitlin Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Paul Raschke and Martha Draper, his father Richard Moore, his cousin Dawn Raschke and his sister Naomi Payne; father-in-law, Larry Kennedy and nephew Brendan Kennedy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 2, 2025 at 12 noon in St. Raphael Archangel Catholic Church 813 South Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh with the Rev. Tom Long officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of mass.
