Mildred Lane's Obituary
Mildred Lane, aged 93, died peacefully on December 29, 2013 at her residence at Azura Memory Care in Oshkosh. Mildred was born August 5, 1920 in Terry, SD the daughter of Sarah and William Pearce.
Mildred was raised in Massachusetts and began a career in fashion as a buyer for a department store in Worchester, MA.
Following her marriage in 1945 she and her husband, Delue Lane, moved to Milwaukee, WI were they raised their two children Sharon and Michael.
Mildred became an expert seamstress and upon her retirement moved to Oshkosh. She volunteered her time and talent to create items for the gift shop at Mercy Medical Center.
She is survived by her two children, Sharon Mather (James Mather) and Michael Lane (Gail Lane); sisters; Dorothy, Doris, and Nancy; granddaughters; Kathleen Hamdan and Candice Lane and a great grandson, Eyas Hamdan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother Donald Pearce.
On behalf of the family we would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Azura Memory Care and Hospice Advantage for the loving care and compassion our mother received.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday January 2, 2014 at 11am at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. Father Michael Warden will be the celebrant. A reception will be held to greet family and friends at 10:00am on January 2, 2014 followed by a Mass at 11:00am.
