Mildred Nigl's Obituary
Mildred A. Nigl, age 86 of Oshkosh, passed away early Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in the Mercy Medical Center. On January 27, 1922 she was born in Oshkosh, the daughter of Joseph and Meta (Reinke) Wilson. Millie was employed by the City of Oshkosh as a payroll clerk where she was appreciated and respected by her co-workers. Millie retired from that job, but was persuaded to work for the City Credit Union. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Oshkosh Senior Citizen Center until Alzheimer’s dementia curtailed her activities. Millie loved to do needlepoint, knit and crochet. She also loved to model in local style shows and even talked about modeling again!! On December 9, 1944 she married Clifford Nigl. He passed away on January 18, 2002.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Michael Nigl and Phyllis Thompson of Oshkosh; her two granddaughters: Angie (Brian) Sheehan of Chicago and Amy (Brian) Taft of Stevens Point; three great-grandchildren: Mary Kate and Danny Sheehan and Echo Taft and her niece: Susan Reyes. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Audrey Schmidt.
Friends and family may call at the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Ave., on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 12-noon to 3:00 p.m., at which time a family led memorial service will be held.
