Nancy A. Baker's Obituary
Nancy A. "Ma Bake's" Baker, age 75, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at her home. She was born on April 7, 1934 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Florence L. (Seifeldt) Paulick. She was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Nancy married Bronson "Phil" Baker on November 5, 1955. He preceded her in death in March of 1994. Nancy loved attending and participating in sports activities with her children and grandchildren and was known for never missing a game. She will also be remembered for helping others less fornunate or those in need. Nancy loved animals and was the family "animal watcher". Nancy's devotion to family and friends was always evident to those around her. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her memory will be cherished by four sons, Brian (Lori) of Pickett, Paul (Cindy) of Oshkosh, Keith and special friend, Jean Brunette of Oshkosh, John (Kara) of Menomonee Falls; a daughter, Wanda (Steve) Delfosse of Oshkosh; brothers, Richard (Olga) Paulick of Lincoln, Nebraska, David Paulick of Oshkosh; half brothers, Michael and Tom Spanbauer, both of Oshkosh; a sister, Marge Schmiedel of Oshkosh; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Reinke and a half-brother, James Spanbauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Nancy at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2009 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, (St. Mary Site) corner of Merritt and Monroe Streets in Oshkosh. The Reverend Fr. William Van DeKreeke will celebrate. Entombment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Baker family on Sunday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive. A prayer service will be held at 7p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A memorial fund is being established in her name.
