NANCY ROBERTS's Obituary
Nancy June Roberts, age 83, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday October 21, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center. She was born in Oshkosh, on June 28, 1931 the daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie Heinzl Peterson. Nancy married Harland J. “Harley” Roberts in St Peter’s Catholic Church on May 19, 1951. Nancy retired in 1991 as the first woman President, and Board of Director member from M & I Western State Bank in Oshkosh. She was the past president of the Fox Valley Technical Institute foundation Inc; treasurer of the West Side association; a former member of the human resource commission of the Bank Administration Institute and the executive Council of Wisconsin Bankers association, a member of Bethel Foundation of Oshkosh, the Chamco board of directors, the Twentieth century Club, the Oshkosh country Club and the American American Contract Bridge League; an honorary board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters; and immediate past chairman/member of the Oshkosh Area School District’s Education for Employment Council. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Nancy was a former bridge instructor, in Oshkosh and Ripon, and always had a deck of cards in her purse. She enjoyed attending her grand children’s sports and after school events.
Nancy is survived by her husband; Harland J. “Harley” Roberts, of Oshkosh, one son; Michael (Marilyn) Roberts, Oshkosh, one daughter; Wendy J. Gilbert, Appleton, two grand children; Kelly, Christopher Roberts, Oshkosh and one sister; Dorothy Kopp, Oshkosh. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister; Rose Ellen Widzinski.
A memorial Mass for Nancy will be held in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Saturday October 25, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Doug Le Captain officiating. Family and friends may call the the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
Nancy’s family wishes to extend a very special Thank you to the ICU staff at Aurora for all their care and compassion during her time of need.
