Neal Balda's Obituary
Neal Anthony Balda, age 79, of Oshkosh passed away on Saturday evening October 5, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. Neal was born in Oshkosh on April 25, 1934 the son of Joseph John and Eleanor (Pechman) Balda. He married Shirley Demler on July 3, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Neal and Shirley were married for 51 years. Neal was employed with the city of Oshkosh for many years in the public works department. He was a faithful member of St. Jude Parish(Sacred Heart Church). He served as a Eucharistic Minister and also a Server for funerals at the church for many years. Neal is survived by his daughter Roxanne "Roxy" (Gary) Phillip of Oshkosh and one son David (Kathleen) Balda of Virginia. Five grandchildren Gabriel, Kai, Leilani, Grace and Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley on May 7, 2006, one son John in infancy and one brother Ken in 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at 11am at St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Church) corner of 6th & Knapp. Father Matt Simonar will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9am until the time of Mass. Private committal services will be held. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Neal's name.
