Ned Fasel's Obituary
Ned Robert Fasel, age 22 of Oshkosh passed away Sunday morning, December 18th, 2011 following a tragic automobile accident. He was born on October 5th, 1989 in Neenah, WI. To Holly (Werch) Fawley and Mark Fasel. Ned attended elementary school in Berlin, WI and later moved to Oshkosh where he attended Carl Treager and Oshkosh North High School. He then attended St. John?s Northwestern Military Academy where he excelled in his studies and graduated as 2nd Lt. with high honors including the Zelma Garriot Morris Medal; given for his self discipline and numerous responsibilities. "Amici, usque, ad finem". Ned also served is Country in the National Guard as a specialist in the 108th forward support company out of Sussex, WI. Ned was an amazing individual who was successful at anything he tried and was exceptional with animals. He was an avid swimmer, outdoorsman, motorcyclist, snowboarder, water enthusiast, mechanic, and artist amongst so many other things.
Words can not describe the passion for life Ned strived for. Nothing gave him more joy than to share priceless memories accompanied by his friends and family. Influences by his peers of St. Johns Northwestern Military Academy helped to inspire him to new heights. His company uplifted and inspired countless people to enjoy the little things. Things like appreciating the beauty of the wilderness. Ned loved being in the outdoors amongst many other interests that he excelled at. His Guitar sessions late into the night, the search for the best snow to ride his board on, and always being with the people he loved. He wanted life in every experience and pushed people to their full potential. This optimism is what brought a smile to everyone or anyone around him. Contagious happiness was brought on by simply being him. There wasn?t a chance to dance he?d miss, a guitar he wouldn?t play, or a slope too steep to shred. These traits made him the amazing man that he is. He is a son, a brother, a friend, and a proud American. Being his charismatic self is an inspiration to all. Life is too short to live any other way. The fragile time we are given is precious and Ned made the most of the short time he had with us. He went out of his way to ensure the happiness of everyone around him. The loss of such an amazing individual, with such a wonderful personality, and the power to positively affect those around him will never be forgotten. Ned is survived by his sister Andrea Fasel of Oshkosh and one brother Spencer Fasel of Auburn, Washington. His mother Holly (James) Fawley of Oshkosh and his father Mark (Roxanne) Fasel of Oshkosh.
