Nina Lea Leib's Obituary
Nina Leib obituary. On December 8, Nina (Welch) Leib joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven after a battle with congestive heart failure and COPD.
“Family” was everything to Nina. Throughout her years as a mom and grandmother, you would see her sitting the stands or bleachers attending football, basketball, baseball, softball games, as well as track meets, concerts and school musicals in which her boys, and then her grandchildren participated. Nina would not even think about missing something in which her family participated. Her family dinners after church on Sunday were legendary and she graciously welcomed and loved on all who came through her doors.
Throughout her life, Nina was an active part of many organizations, mostly due to the fact that her husband Rocky had signed up for them. Nina served on the church council at Sacred Heart, was a committee member for the first Sacred Heart Picnic, as well as helping to establish and promote the Lourdes Athletic Booster Club, and being a founding member of the Lourdes Ambassadors. Using her gift for hospitality, Nina worked as a travel agent and manager of UniTravel for many years until she and Rocky ventured out and established their own business, “Rocky and Nina’s Ambassador Travel”.
Nina was blessed in many ways. She married Rocky Leib on October of 1955, and together they raise their four boys. Her heart broke for the first time when the love of her life, Rocky, lost his battle with cancer in 2001. But the Lord brought an end her loneliness and sadness when He brought an old high school boyfriend, David Buch, back into her life. The two were married in August of 2006 and David became wrapped in Nina’s love story with her children and grandchildren. The two of them traveled the state together cheering on and supporting the grandchildren. Nina lost David in October of 2017.
Nina’s strength of character through trying times, her gift of hospitality, and her servant’s heart will live on through the legacy of her ever-growing family.
Nina was preceded in death by her father and mother, Rial and Nina P. Welch, brother Bobby, sister Tubby, along with husbands, Rocky Leib and David Buch. She is survived by her sisters Jane (David) Juedes, Wendy (Bruce) Hunter, brothers Bill (Peggy) Welch, and Rick (Judi) Welch, as well as sister-in-law Janice Mathe and brother-in-law Don Jungwirth, along with countless nieces and nephews.

Mom, your song may have ended here on earth, but the music lingers on in our hearts. This is the beginning of the Beginning. "Love you more".
