Norman Charles Shurtz II's Obituary
Master Seargent Norman Charles Shurtz II, 76, passed away unexpectedly Sunday February 16, 2025. Norm was born September 9, 1948 in Sacramento, California, son of Norman and Elaine (Clauss) Shurtz. Norm served a total of 30 years in the United States Marine Corps from 1968-1998. Also was a member of the Winnebago Detachment of the Marine Corps League and the United Veterans Honor Guard here in Oshkosh. He was a very active man. He was extremely passionate about his wine, bowling, golf, and his newest hobby; stamp collecting. Norm was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Pamela LaValley. Survivors are his brother in law William LaValley, a niece Dawn, and a nephew Scott. Norm impacted so many hearts for the short time he has been in the state of Wisconsin. His jovial personality, his devotion to the sports he loved, and his passion for newly restored Corvette.
Funeral services for Norm will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 1 pm in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 am until the time of service. Full military honors will be accorded by the United Veterans Honor Guard immediately following the service. Burial will follow in the Veterans Section of Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh.
Norm you will truly be missed by all. Your smile, your infectious laughter, and especially your famous jig you danced for us, will make you be forever in our hearts. From all of us to you, “Atta way to go!”
