Orville Berndt's Obituary
Orville L Berndt, age 84, of Oshkosh, died Monday October 19, 2015 at his home. He was born in Oshkosh on December 25, 1930 the son of the late Orville and Laura Trampf Berndt. Orville served his country in the U S Air Force. He married Shirley Ann Jones in Oshkosh on September 17, 1955. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2009. Until the time of his retirement Orville was employed as a Firefighter in the Oshkosh Fire Department. Orville was a member of St Vincents Catholic Church, and was an avid Packer and Cub fan.
Survivors include three sons; Dennis (special friend Pat Gilles) Berndt, of Oshkosh, David (Debora) Berndt, Oshkosh, Douglas (Mary) Berndt, Oshkosh, two daughters; Laurie (Todd) LaBorde, Oshkosh, Beth (Michael) Schuppe, Oshkosh, eight grandchildren; Joshua, Ryan, Corey, Taylor, Whitney, Benjamin, Dakota, Shianne, three great-grandchildren; ;Hallee, Joshua JR, Drew, and very special friend; Julie Brooks of Oshkosh. He is further survived by many relatives and friends.
Orville was preceded in death by his step-father; Norbert Gerth, and daughter-in-law Pattie Berndt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 22, at 6:00 PM in St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (St Vincents worship site corner of South Park and Oregon) with the Rev Matt Simonar officiating. Burial will be in Zoar Cemetery Friday 10:00 AM with full military honors. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 3:00-6:00 PM
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established
