Pat Becker's Obituary
Patricia J. "Pat" Becker, age 77, of Oshkosh, went to Heaven on Monday, January 9, 2012. She was born on March 10, 1934 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Rupert and Sophia Dettlaff. Pat married the man of her dreams, Daniel E. Becker on November 29, 1952 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh and for the next 59 years they proved that true love really does exist! Spending time with her family was the most important thing to Pat. She loved being a Mom, Grandma (Grams) and Great Grandma. Pat greatly enjoyed playing bingo, friday night cards with her family, being a member of her TOPS group, getting together for brunch with "the girls" (former classmates and her sisters), going to rummage sales, doing her number search puzzles and giving Sunshine (the nickname for her husband) "the look" which her husband and children got a kick out of seeing. She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish.
Pat is survived by and her memory will be cherished by her husband, Daniel and their three children, (DJ) Donna (Donald) Paeth of Redgranite, Jeffrey (Debbie) Becker of Oshkosh and Karen (Rick) LaPoint of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Kristina McCann, Russell Becker, Michelle (Nick) Taylor, Janice Hurst, Aaron (Amy) LaPoint and Heather Becker as well as her twelve great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Jerett, Hayden, Katy, Xxander, Claire, Kylie, Isabel, Noah, Owen, Lee and Kara; brothers and sisters, Kathleen Kitzman, Lois Eaton, Judy Friar, Gloria (Dale) Smith, Marlyn (Glen) Gutsmiedl, Mary Jane (Ron) Bartels, James (Karen) Dettlaff, Gerald (Rose Mary) Dettlaff, Donald (Marlene) Dettlaff, Thomas Dettlaff, David (Dawn) Dettlaff, Glen Dettlaff. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews; two brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law, James (Marilyn) Becker, Curtis (Nancy) Becker and Nancy Brandon; other relatives and many very dear friends. Pat was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters, Robert Dettlaff, Sister Merryn (Ruth), Dorothy Phillips and Virginia Borski. Also preceding are a brother-in-law, Barney and three sisters-in-law, Joyce, Barbara and Jeanne Cargill.
Funeral services for Pat will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh with the Rev. Fr. Matt Simonar officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Becker family on Friday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established. We will miss the butterflies she always wore in her hair and hearing "I'm here!" whenever a family member would come to the house. Dad will miss holding her hand every night until she would fall asleep. God took an Angel home today and although she will be sadly missed by her friends and loved ones, we all know she is at Peace in Heaven. We love you Mom/Darling Wife/Friend!
