Patricia "Pat" Jane KELIHER

Patricia “Pat” Keliher, age 89, passed away on Thursday January 19th, 2023 at her residence. Pat was born in Oshkosh on March 16, 1933, the daughter of Leonard and Margaret (Neubauer) Youngwirth. She married James Keliher at Sacred Heart Church on November 20, 1954. He proceeded her in death in 2021, after a loving 66 years of marriage. They were blessed with 3 children. She was a very loving and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother, always available to provide care, help, fun and “treats”. Pat graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1951. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and continued her education at UWO College and Marian College, Fond du Lac. She had a long career as a well-respected nurse and nurse leader at Mercy Medical Center for 25 years. During her career there she worked in maternity and pediatrics, was the nursing supervisor of the medical-surgical unit, was a nurse educator at Mercy School of Nursing and ultimately served as Director of Nursing. She then moved to Wautoma and continued her nursing career as Director of Nursing at Wautoma Hospital, Wautoma Care Center and Wild Rose Manor and served as a nurse educator at Fox Valley Technical College. After her retirement in 1997, Pat enjoyed her baking “hobby” and was known for her famous “Patz” scones, muffins and cookies. Pat died with peace and dignity knowing she had left nothing undone. She had enjoyed it all! Pat is survived by her three children: James (Vickie) Keliher of Groveland, Florida. Jean (Michael) Talbot of Wrightstown, WI, and Joseph (Andrea) Keliher of Townsend, DE. Grandchildren, Meghan (John) Dunigan, Allison (Robert) Stephenson, Matt Talbot, and Larissa (Robert) Hill. Great grandchildren, Liam and Kieran Dunigan, Owen, Lily, and Maddy Stephenson and her three sisters Joan Hinde, Kathy Nigl, and Sr. Florence Youngwirth. She is proceeded in death by her husband Jim, parents Leonard and Margaret Youngwirth and her sister, Germaine Youngwirth. A Mass of Christian Burial for Pat will be held on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM in St Raphael Catholic Church in Oshkosh with the Rev Thomas Long officiating. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
