Paul Engler's Obituary
Our brother, Paul Engler, quietly left us to go to his mom and dad's loving embrace on May 25th, 2025. Paul was the 4th child of the late Hibbard and Reta Engler, born on the 4th of July. He liked to say the entire U.S. celebrates his birthday.
Paul was a kind and compassionate soul, who struggled with health issues most of his life, but never gave up. Many stories could be told of his wild younger adventures and times enjoying the lake cabin with family. A lot of nights were spent around the campfires laughing and talking with brothers, sisters, family and friends.
He had a lifelong love of animals , volunteered at the Humane Society, and had numerous pets during his life. Besides his love of animals, Paul loved his motorcycles and long conversations. He had the gift of gab and his presence will be greatly missed by his siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents: Hibbard H. and Reta (Juul) Engler; sister, Elizabeth Engler and brother, Hibbard (Jack) Engler. He is survived by: 2 sisters: Mary (Peter) Nelson; and Susan (Jeffrey Teplin) Engler: 2 brothers: Walter (Ann Ash) Engler, and Daniel (Diane Thompson) Engler and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved.
There will be a celebration of life on Paul's 4th of July birthday, for family and close friends, at shelter #1 in the Winnebago County Community Park in Oshkosh, starting at noon. Donations in honor of Paul to your local animal shelters are greatly appreciated. Any questions, pictures, or stories can be sent to the following email: [email protected]
