Pauline A. Gauger's Obituary
Pauline Gauger, age 90, of Oshkosh, WI passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday January 4, 2026 at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, WI. She was born on July 7, 1935 the daughter of Harold and Mary Nielsen. Pauline married Larry Gauger on July 17, 1954 at Sacred Heart Church in Oshkosh, WI. Larry preceded her in death on January 21, 2016.
Pauline retired from Winnebago Mental Health Institute in 1999. She volunteered for many years at St. Vincent DePaul and was always graciously trying to give clothing and other things to anyone who would accept them. She was an excellent seamstress and knitter. She made her four daughters the same red dress for Christmas one year. She also made many Barbie doll outfits and knitted belts and mittens. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family; especially her great grandchildren. Pauline was an avid gardener. She loved being outside caring for her beautiful flowers. She enjoyed telling so many stories of her past. She often talked about wanting to write a book about her life. She loved counted cross-stitch and has created many heirlooms. She loved attending sporting events her son, grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in.
Pauline is survived by one son: Gary (Lisa) of Kokomo, IN; four daughters: Laura (Rod) Gruse, Paula Wing, (Dennis Golliher) of Oshkosh, WI; Patty (Steve) Ackley, of Janesville, WI; Lynn Andrews, of Berlin, WI; eleven grandchildren, Cory (Kristin) Ruhl, Jaimie (Ben) Mueller, Jason and Amanda Wing, Kevin and Ryan Ackley, Nate and Garrett Andrews, triplets; Brittany (Jordan) Gipe, Mitchell and Tylor Gauger; nine great grandchildren; Brayden, Parker and Peyton Ruhl, Nora, Devan, Isaiah and Mariah Mueller, Jackson and Blakelyn Gipe; one brother, Ralph and (Dolly) Nielsen; sisters, Joyce Ceelen, Mary Jane and (Dennis) Shebasta, Sue and (Bob) Samer. She is preceded in death by her brother Harold, in-laws; Pat Nielsen, Bill Ceelen and Emily Nielsen.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Pauline on Thursday January 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Catholic Church)1225 Oregon St.. Father Eric, Pauline's nephew will celebrate the mass. A time of visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
