PETE KORELL's Obituary
Peter S. (Steamboat) Korell
If you all are reading this “It could be worse” well it is worse. Life sure has been great and have meet so many great people all around the world. My mother (Mary) and father (Leo) were such a great inspiration from birth till they passed. We had many good times together from vacations to embarrassing childhood memories hence the Steamboat nickname (Ask Becky R. about that nickname). Have had many nicknames from Steamboat, Caveman, Fred, Petey Poo Poo.
After graduating Lourdes High School in 1968 I tried to make it in the real world working for a living. Decided in 1969 to enter the Air Force were I met my lovely wife Judy, we married in 1972. We traveled around the country and overseas. We have 2 beautiful children (Keith & Jenny) who had to put up with the traveling. We finally settled down in Oshkosh WI after 20 years in the Air Force. I do love to cook (Thanks mom), golf (my dad taught me everything), bowling (Not sure were Keith gets it from by I will take full credit), playing cribbage (Joan and Mary I loved playing you guys but you guys were a lot easier to beat then dad), and loved drinking an occasional beer with my friends and Ginger Snaps. Nothing wrong with a good old Budweiser now and then. Our lives changed on 21 March 2001 at 10:26 AM. A doctor told me that I had leukemia. Life was never the same but as a family we were together to beat this. Being a lucky person I was having two birthdays 13 August 1950. My second birthday 16 May 2008 thanks to my sister Mary.
I was preceded in death by my parents, Mary and Leo Korell, my brother in laws Roger Fitch & Dennis Sitter.
I’m survived by My beloved wife (Judy) thank you for being my rock for so many years I couldn’t have done it without you, My wonderful kids Keith Korell (Stephanie) & Jenny Henslin (Steve), My amazing grand children Mason, Blake, Lydia, Alexya, Adrianne. My sisters Mary Sitter and Joan Bitter. My brother in laws Jerry Bitter, Gary Kennedy, Don Marine and sister in laws Jody Fitch, & Karen Kennedy Marine. And many nieces and nephews.
I lived a wonderful life, yes I wish it could have been longer for my wonderful wife, my kids, and my grand kids, friends and family. But I hope I put a smile on everyone faces that I meet. Ya'll meant the world to me I will be looking down on all of you.
Last of all GO PACK GO and Go Brewers and yes Keith Go Cubs.
Love you all!
