Phillip D. Hogue, age 39, died Wed., January 6, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center after a short illness. He was born July 4, 1981 to David and Debra Hogue in Oshkosh.
Phillip attended Oshkosh Public Schools, graduating from West High School in June, 2002. After graduation, he worked at Lakeside Packaging Plus for a number of years, before he “retired”.
As a young boy, Phillip was a Cub Scout in the Bay Lakes Council. He was active in the community including Special Olympics bowling, track, and basketball. He attended tournaments and was lucky enough to qualify for State Competitions on occasion. He was a bell ringer for a few years for the Salvation Army. He attended the Jesus Cares program at Grace Lutheran Church, which he enjoyed.
Anyone who knew Phillip knew he was very knowledgeable about Star Wars. He liked his Star Wars figures, vehicles, and various other collectibles and knew everything about them. He loved all the Star Wars movies and going to see the characters at Disney World, Fox Cities Stadium, and at House of Heroes.
Some of his favorite pastimes were to go to the library, House of Heroes, watch TV, go to the movies, travel to WI Dells, and go to the Zoo at Menomonee Park. He was lucky enough to have dedicated staff who took him to special events so that he enjoyed every day.
Phillip is survived by his parents, David and Debra, his brother Patrick (Crystal), niece Emilee Hinz, and nephews Nicholas Hinz and Kekoa Hogue. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Geraldine and Sidney Hogue, Helen Richards, Barbara and William McArdle, and his aunt Nancy Hogue.
Phillip’s family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the ICU and Second Floor at Aurora for the kind and excellent care they provided Phillip and his family.
