Phillip Nett's Obituary
Phillip J. Nett, age 78 of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008 in the Bethel Home. On September 16, 1930 he was born in Oshkosh, the son of Joseph and Theresa (Schmitz) Nett. Phillip worked as a millworker at American Excelisor and Georgia Pacific. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Woodworking, reading, playing cards, making cookies were among his hobbies. He was an avid Packer fan. Family was very important to Phillip, so he made arrangements for a park to hold holiday picnics. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. On March 25, 1947 he married Joyce Bricco in Oshkosh. She survives along with his children: Ronald (Linda) Crossman of West Allis, William Crossman of Oshkosh, Gregory Nett of Oshkosh, Michael (Sue) Nett of Omro, Roxanne (Donald) Wachtveitl of Oshkosh, Pamela (Paul) Bamman of Frankfort, IL, Shirley (William) VanOrnum of Oshkosh and Sam (Nancy) Nett of Oshkosh; his daughter-in-law: Margaret Crossman of Oshkosh, numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and his sister: Jean in California. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings and one son: Russell Crossman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. William Van De Kreeke as celebrant. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday in the church.
