Randy P. Blechl's Obituary
Randy P. Blechl, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2009 at his home. On January 20, 1955, he was born in Oshkosh, the son of Frank L. and Lois (Wilde) Blechl. Randy worked as a captain at the Oshkosh Correctional Facility. He was a first responder and a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Nekimi Fire Department. He was a firefighter since 1982 and a first responder since 1997. Randy was a member of the St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (St. John's site). His hobbies included hunting, four-wheeling, fishing, trap shooting and working in his yard. On March 28, 1987 he married Diane Ploskee in St. John's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Diane survives along with his son: Alexander; his daughter: Emily and his parents: Frank and Lois Blechl all of Oshkosh; his siblings: Michael Blechl of Oshkosh; Dan (fiancee: Wendy) Blechl of Spartenberg, S.C.; Alan (Melanie) Blechl of Neenah; Bruce (Tammy) Blechl of Pickett; Mary (Edward) Van Ravenstein of Cambridge, WI; Pat (Roger) Erdmann and Loretta (fiance: Gary) Blechl both of Oshkosh; his Godparents: Gerald and Roberta Blechl of Mount Prospect, IL; his in-laws: William and Patricia Brown of Oshkosh and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother: Frank Steven.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2009 in the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Dr., with Rev. Fr. William Van De Kreeke officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 12-noon to 5:00 p.m., Friday in the funeral home.
