Rebecca Jean Meyer's Obituary
Rebecca Jean Meyer, 55 of Fox Crossing, passed away on January 17th at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital after battling Covid-19. She is survived by countless family & friends and many, many (unfinished) quilting projects.
Becky was born in Ripon on September 22nd, 1966 to Christian and Doreen Waldhart (Bednarek). She graduated from Wild Rose High School in 1984 before attending Fox Valley Tech. She recently celebrated 20 years at JJ Keller.
Becky embodied sunshine and optimism. She was quick with a smile, a kind word, and endless good cheer. She didn’t believe in “a glass half empty”. Her outgoing spirit and generous nature drew people to her from every avenue of her life. She valued game nights with the family as well as time with coworkers, fellow parishioners at St. Raphael’s, and dear friends she made over many years of quilting retreats and sewing groups.
She was always ready for another game of cards, a new person at her table, or a fresh adventure - never getting lost but often finding new ways to get to where she was trying to go. She was the first to rally the family, hop in the car, and lead everyone to a good time.
Most of all, Becky was a mom at heart. She always saw the best in people. She blessed others' lives by caring for them deeply and by always being there to offer advice, assistance, or a shoulder to cry on. She was a source of comfort and strength to everyone she met. Things like age or your relation to her didn’t matter- once she decided she loved you, her heart was yours forever.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11 am in St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Dr. in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 am until the time of Mass. Please join us to celebrate Becky’s life. Masks are required and social distancing is encouraged as much as possible.
