Richard "Dick" Demler's Obituary
Richard J. “Dick” Demler, age 85, of Oshkosh passed away on February 3, 2024. He was born on May 4, 1938, in Oshkosh, son of Joseph and Lydia (Fischer) Demler.
He married the love of his life, Audrey (Quint) Demler on February 23, 1963. They were married for 31 years and she was the only woman he would ever love, which he held true to since she passed away on July 7, 1994.
Dick was retired from the Oshkosh Area School District where he worked for over 30 years. Dick was known in his younger years as “joints” for his dance moves. He enjoyed playing softball, was an avid golfer and bowler. Dick also enjoyed his trips to Oneida Casino over the years. He was proud to be the oldest of the “Demler Cousins” at the family reunion, summer of 2022.
Dick is survived by his daughter Kathy (Greg) Anderson, son James Demler and daughter-in-law Cindy Demler; grandchildren Brittany (Michael) Meulemans, Blake Conger (Tia Williams), Alex (Taylor) Anderson; great grandchildren Brynlee and Reid Meulemans; two sisters Lynn (Larry) Paulus and Cindy Demler; and many nieces and nephews.
Dick was proceeded in death by his wife Audrey (Quint) Demler; son Joseph Demler; parents Joseph and Lydia (Fischer); brother Terry Demler.
A Prayer Service for Dick will be held on Thursday February 8, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Poklasny Funeral Home (870 W. South Park Ave). A time for visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the time of the Prayer Service.
