RICHARD "DICK" ONEILL's Obituary
Richard E “Dick” O’Neill, age 77, of Oshkosh, peacefully passed away at his home on Monday May 18, 2015 in Oshkosh. He was born in Oshkosh on January 12, 1938 the son of the late Earl and Eleanor Wawra O’Neill. Dick graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1956. He married Louise “Lois” Behrens on April 23, 1960 in Delavan WI. . Dick was employed by the Winnebago County Highway Department, the United States Postal Service, Pick N’ Save south, and O’Neill enterprises, and was a member of the U S Army Reserve. In his youth, Dick served as an altar boy at St Vincent Catholic Church, and in later years he was president of the church’s Usher Society and troop committee chairman for the church’s Boy Scout Troop. Dick enjoyed playing dartball, bowling, horseshoes, golf, and cribbage, as well as camping with his family. He loved the west and any movie starring John Wayne. Dick was a life long member of St Vincent Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; Lois O’Neill, of Oshkosh, three sons; Gary (Gale), Citrus Heights, CA., Patrick (Jill), Oshkosh, Timothy (Bridget) O’Neill, Boulder City, NV., one daughter; Michelle O’Neill, Oshkosh, four grandchildren; Taylor (Lib) O’Neill, Ave Maria FL, Keaton O’Neill, Oshkosh, Ariel, Madison O"’Neill, both of Boulder City NV., two great-grandchildren; Alice, and Maura O’Neill, and one sister; Dolores Stehle, Oshkosh. Dick is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass for Dick will be held on Wednesday May 27, in St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (St Vincent worship site) at 12:00 PM with the Rev Matt Simonar officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the hour of services.
