Richard M. Frank's Obituary
Richard M. Frank, age 84, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Aurora Medical Center. He was born on August 7, 1925 in Oshkosh, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Frank. Richard married the former Vera Shorts on May 18, 1948 in Oshkosh. Vera preceded him in death on January 18, 2003. Richard served his country in the US Army during WW II and worked for Union Pacific Railroad and then worked for and retired from the Winnebago State Hospital. He greatly enjoyed wood working and raising birds, especially canarys. The love of his life was his great-grandson, Scott whom he shared his home with the past three years. His memory will be cherished by his daughter, JoAnn Luedke of Oshkosh; a brother, Ken Frank and a half brother, Joe Frank Jr., both of Oshkosh; a sister, Virginia "Jean" Schmidt of Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Carl (Teresa) Luedke, Tammy (Tom) Immel and Raymond Luedke; nine great-grandchildren, Scott Luedke, Alex and Derek Arenz, Jasmine Adkins, Danille and Andrew Luedke, Ashley and Brett Immel and Blake Hearron. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katerine A. Adkins and a sister, Dorothy Blanchette. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Ave. in Oshkosh with the Reverend Fr. William Van DeKreeke officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
