Richard "Dick" Gaab's Obituary
Richard "Dick" Gaab, age 88 of Oshkosh passed away on Saturday morning February 9, 2019 at Park View Health Center in Oshkosh. He was born in Oshkosh on April 11, 1930 the son of Henry and Martha (Waldvogel) Gaab. Dick served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Mary Ellen Wendler on April 11, 1953 in Oshkosh, WI. Dick was employed for AT&T as a Lineman for many years. He was a faithful member of St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church) and he loved playing golf.
Dick is survived by his wife; Mary Ellen Gaab of Oshkosh. Three sons; Mark (Barb) Gaab of Mountain, Dan (Dawn) Gaab of Appleton and Bob (Kay) Gaab of Omro. Three daughters; Ellen Svacina of Oshkosh, Laurie (Randy) Jones of Appleton and Jean Leonard of Oshkosh. One sister; Betty Simons of Oshkosh. Daughter-in-law; Tammi Gaab of Berlin and special friend; Kenny Loewen. Ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Scott, one brother; Henry and a son-in-law; Todd Leonard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 11:30 am at St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church corner of South Park & Oregon). Father Louis Galomari will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 am until the time of Mass. Private committal services will be held at Riverside Cemetery (Catholic Section).
