Richard C. Jones' Obituary
Richard C. Jones, age 65 of Oshkosh, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee. On October 15, 1943 he was born in Hamilton, OH, the son of Robert C. and Dorothy (Herrman) Jones. Richard worked in Ohio and West Virginia as an auto and airplane mechanic. He was a member of EAA Docent, Board of Directors for the Spring Brook Sportsman Club, Fox Valley Dance Club and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He also flew 1307 children for Young Eagles for EAA. During the Viet Nam War, he served with the U.S. Army in the rifle division.
Richard is survived by his brother: Gordon Jones in Connecticut; his aunt: Alberta Burke and a uncle: Richard Herrman both in Ohio; a cousin: Susan Walk of Delavan, WI and a special friend: Delores Berger of Oshkosh. Richard was loved very much and will be missed. His parents preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2009 in the Voyager Exhibit in the EAA Museum with Rev. Stephen Rankin officiating. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 2-3 p.m., Saturday in the museum. Memorials may be made in Richard's name to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be made at: fissbillspoklasny.com
