Richard E. Maxwell's Obituary
Richard Maxwell, age 95 of Oshkosh, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 in the Bethel Home. On April 16, 1914 he was born in Oshkosh, the son of Archie and Ellen (Doughterty) Maxwell. Richard worked for Muza Sheet Metal and also worked on his father's farm. He served with U.S. Army during World War II, having served in Normandy, northern France Ardennes. Rhineland, Central Europe from June, 1941 to September, 1945. Richard loved to hunt, fish and garden and watching the garden grow. He also played baseball and was a very good dancer. On November 8, 1941 he married Dorothy Jensen in Menasha. She survives along with his children: Charlotte Esposito, John Maxwell, Ellen (Gene) Maddox, Louise Maxwell; his grandchildren: Scott Esposito, Craig (Mechelle) Esposito, Brian (Leslie) Esposito, Andrew Maxwell, Jay Maddox, Joanie (Sam) Cobb; his great-grandchildren: Shane an d Jack Esposito, Bracken and Maddox Cobb. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law: Bryan Kallies and a daughter-in-law: Ann Maxwell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2009 in the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St. Peter's site), 435 High Street with Rev, Fr. Joel Sember as celebrant.
