Richard "Rick" C. Wing's Obituary
Oshkosh – Richard Claude Wing, Sr., age 74, passed away at Evergreen Manor on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020. He was born in Oshkosh on Aug. 22, 1946 to Eleanor (Stieg) Wing and Claude Wing.
Rick’s passion was supporting and spending time with fellow veterans, his brothers-in-arms. He was a charter member and past president of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 437 of Oshkosh. He was also an annual member of the AMVETS Post 7 and a lifetime member of VFW Post 1908. He proudly served as chairman of the Fourth of July parade honoring all veterans.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Wing, his brother, Larry Wing and his loving partner, Deanna Schaetz.
He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Wing; three children, Wendy Davids, Ricky Wing Jr. and Cody Hallman; two brothers, Brad (Mary) Wing, and Steve (Ann) Wing; four sisters, Bev (Don) Wing-Lonski, Diane (Michael) McCarthy, Karen Davies and Barb Wing; three grandsons and three great grandchildren.
Private services were on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 by Fiss and Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home at Lake View Memorial Cemetery with Deacon Pat Gelhar officiating.
Rick’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Duane Canon, president of VVA Chapter 437, and the Evergreen Manor staff for their loving care and support of Rick.
