Richard J. Skarpho's Obituary
Richard J. Skarpho, age 75, of Fond du Lac passed away on July 29, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Richard was born on May 21, 1947 the son of Phil and Shirley Skarpho in Chicago, IL. Richard joined the Air Force at 18 and served 4 years during the Vietnam War. He enrolled in San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office Academy and graduated in 1971. On August 12, 1972 he married Dianne Tessin. Richard served on the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dept., Westminster P.D., San Bernardino County D.A.’s office, Vancouver, WA P.D. where he retired on July 30, 2010. His hobbies included, card games with his family, riding his Harley, watching the Chicago Bears, ice skating, skiing and loving on his many pets.
Richard is survived by his wife, Dianne Skarpho. One daughter, Jennifer (Janarro) Skarpho. Two grandchildren, Anthony and Caleigh Wheeler. Close family friends, Julie Hammack, Arjun Dey, Jackie Paulson and Heather Okonek.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert.
Private committal services will be held on at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery located on the grounds at King in Waupaca County.
