Richard A. Werner's Obituary
Richard A. Werner Sr. passed away October 20, 2022 at Omro Care Center.
Richard was born on November 13, 1939 to the late Robert and Rosemary (Smith) Werner. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and worked as a custodian for the Oshkosh Area School District for 37 years, until his retirement in 1997. Richard also worked as a bartender, a job that he enjoyed because he always enjoyed being around people. Richard married his wife; Joan on October 13, 1984 at First English Lutheran Church.
Richard is survived by his wife; Joan, two daughters; Carla (Todd) Morey and Jane (Nick) Giampaolo, 1 stepson; Charles (Mary) Laiten Miller, one sister; Kathleen Teske. He is further survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Rosemary (Smith) Werner, sons; James and Richard Jr. (Terry), stepson; Michael Laiten, daughter; Debbie Marie, brothers; Robert Jr. (Sandy) and Gilbert (Sharon), brother-in-law; Charles Teske (Kathy) and Gene (Sue) Werner, sister; Carol (Robert) Jacobs.
Funeral services for Richard will be held on Friday October 28, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S. Westhaven Dr.) with Father Tom Long officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
Donations can be made, in Richard’s name, to Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Oshkosh Humane Society.
