Richard George Wuest's Obituary
Richard (Dick) George Wuest, passed away peacefully at his home on April 17, 2025.
Richard was born September 30, 1937 in Oshkosh, WI. to the late Art and Alice(Kramer)
Wuest. He was one of five children. Richard resided in the unincorporated Village of Ring
from 1978 until his eternal rest. He married the love of his life Mary Ellen (Duchatschek)
Wuest on February 12,1971. Richard was employed at Oshkosh Truck Corporation for 26
years as a parts coordinator. He was a delivery driver for Peoples Brewery , and landed a
hand on numerous farms. Richard was a gifted gardener and farmer. Throughout his life he
enjoyed traveling, downhill skiing, sturgeon spearing, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting,
playing sheephead, collecting hickory nuts, and story telling. He took great pride in being a
Nekimi Volunteer Firefighter for 30 years.
His memory will be cherished by his surviving two children; Amy Wuest,(Special Friend
Ben Schnell), of Menasha and Mark (Dani)Wuest), and his two Grandchildren Riley and
Turner Wuest of Oshkosh.
Richard is survived by his siblings; Mary Hildebrandt, and Louis (Kathy) Wuest. Brother in
laws Leon (Cynthia) Duchatschek, John(Cindy) Duchatschek, and Jerry Prellwitz, nieces,
nephews, extended family, and many dear friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Alice Wuest, his wife Mary Ellen,
Sisters Susie Gauger, Edna (Mick) Gorman, mother & father in law Gertrude and Leo
Duchatschek,and brother in laws Oscar Hildebrandt, Daniel (Sandy) Duchatschek and
sister in law Laurie Prellwitz. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services for Richard will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday April 24, 2025 at Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh, WI. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Wuest family at the funeral home April 24, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery Oshkosh, Wi.
