Rita Tadych's Obituary
Rita H. Tadych, age 87, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday morning, August 8, 2009 at the Evergreen Retirement Community-Creekview. She was born on June 30, 1922 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Maslanka) Sosinski. She married Ray Dronek on September 22, 1945 and Ray preceded her in death on June 26, 1965. Rita married Richard Tadych on July 5, 1969 and Richard preceded her in death on September 13, 1986. She was a life-long member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church and had worked for Mondl's for 27 years and then for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for 20 years in the custodial department in the nursing education area. Rita greatly enjoyed sewing, needle point, crocheting, bingo, gambling, her card club and dining out with the UWO retirement group. Rita was also known for her great love and fondness of cats, having cared for many stray cats over the years. She is survived by a step-son, Steve (Barb) Tadych of Dayton, Ohio; four step-grandchildren, Chris, Colleen, Robert and Shari; several great-grandchildren and is further survived by nieces and nephews, including a special niece and caretaker, Barb (Jerry) Pommerening of Oshkosh, other relatives and many dear friends, including a special friend, Mary Kryzaniak. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Joseph and Romy. Funeral services for Rita will be held on Tuesday evening, August 11, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh, the Reverend Fr. William Van DeKreeke will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established.
