Robert Bednarek's Obituary
Robert W. Bednarek, age 78 of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008 in his home. On December 20, 1929 he was born in Oshkosh, the son of Walter and Lillian (Dushenski) Bednarek. Robert was employed at the Morgan Company for eight years. He then was employed as food production manager at the Winnebago State Hospital or 33-1/2 years. He also worked part-time for Red's Pizza and Catering for 50 years. Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the National Guard for seven years. Cooking, fishing and going up North were among his hobbies. He was also a Packer fan. On November 24, 1951 he married Rose Mary Sosnoski in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife: Rose Mary of Oshkosh; his children: Sandra (Mike) Morrissey and James (Lori) Bednarek both of Oshkosh and Joby (Tim) McKeag of Appleton; his grandchildren: Travis (fiancee: Julie Krautkramer) Morrissey of Madison, Kyra Morrissey of Milwaukee, Shannon, Josh and Ben Bednarek all of Oshkosh, Sarah and Becca McKeag both of Madison; his brother: Donald Bednarek of Oshkosh; his sisters: Josephine Schiefen of Austin, TX, Barbara (Harlan Kolodzik) Geffers and Susan (Rick) Yell both Omro and his brother-in-law: Donald (Bonnie) Sosnoski.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2008 in St. Jude the Apostle Parish (Sacred Heart site), corner of Knapp Street and 6th Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Thomas Reynebeau as celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the church.
