Robert "Bob" Godfrey Samida JR's Obituary
Robert "Bob" Godfrey Samida peacefully passed away within a circle of LOVEon Tuesday November 30th, 2021at Theda Care Hospital in Appleton. He was born in Oshkosh on March 11,1961 the son of Robert and Nancy Koplitz Samida. Bob married Julie Van Linn on December 20, 2000 in Oshkosh. Until the time of his passing, Bob was employed by New London Fabrication of New London as a highly skilled Machinist, Welder, Fabricator.
Bob was an extremely humble man with a magnificent mechanical mind. He could fix anything and pretty much did fix everything. He built engines and cars. He was gifted in this trade and is irreplaceable.
At a very young age Bob was taught by the most dearest person in his life, Grandpa Godfrey Koplitz. They had a VERY special bond. Grandpa passed away the day after Christmas in 1981, and up until this day, during the Christmas season Bob still feels the deepest loss in his heart.
Bob was a man who gave himself to others in need without hesitation. He often put others before himself. He gave and gave and never expected anything in return because that is who he is. Not many people exist in this world who have enough love in their heart to forgive so graciously, but again, that is the kind of man he is.They say actions speak louder than words and this never ran more true.
Bob and his wife Julie were each other's LOVE OF THEIR LIFE. They were undeniably each other's soulmates. Bob dearly loved his wife even after 21 years of marriage, they still acted like they were in their honeymoon phase. That's the kind of husband Bob is. He unconditionally loved his wife and showed her that love every single day they were together. His actions spoke louder than any word could be written.
Bob was unconditionally the best Dad and Poppy one could ask for. He showed his love through actions. He was soft and gentle yet so strong and protective of all of his children, grandchildren and family.
Bob was also an animal lover as well. Throughout his life Bob had many pets. He loved them as if they were his children. It is no surprise animals gravitate towards him. That alone should tell you what kind of human being he is.
We could all stand to learn from Robert. His moral compass was about as accurate as one could be. He leads by example. He will be deeply missed by all that were blessed to spend time and get to know him. That's who Bob IS.
Bob will be sadly missed by his wife; Julie Samida of New London, his mother Nancy Samida of Oshkosh, son Bradley Samida of Oshkosh, daughters Nicole Samida of MN, Amber Kemp of KY. He had seven Grandchildren: McKenzie, Maverick, Jack, Piper, Felix, Maeve and Zoe. One brother Randall (Patty) Samida, Oshkosh: Two sisters: Kristine (Mark) Gehrke, Oshkosh, and Katherine (Jesse Van Linn) Samida, Black Creek. Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert K. Samida SR and son William (Bil) Johnson.
Funeral services for Bob will be held on Tuesday December 7th at 4:00 PM in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S. Westhaven, Oshkosh) with Deacon Joe Lehman officiating. Family and friends may come/call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until the hour of services.
