Robert E Dehn's Obituary
Robert E. Dehn, age 79, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018
with his family at his side. He was born in Berlin, WI on August 21, 1938 a son
of the late Harold and Esther Dehn. He married the former Ann Berger on August
6, 1960. Robert worked at Oshkosh B'Gosh until his retirement in 2000. He was
very active at St. Jude Parish, (Sacred Heart Catholic Church), including usher,
eucharistic minister, and money counter. His faith and family were most
important to him.
Bob is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his wife Ann of 57 years;
a son, Scott (Amy) Dehn; daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Graffen, Debbie (Andy)
Piotter, and Kari (Scott) Koerner. He is also survived by grandchildren, Tim,
Christina (fiance' Alex), and DJ (Maggie) Richmond, Stacy (Jack) Clark, Michelle
Toney, Kristine (David) Veith, Clint and Hudson Piotter, Colleen and Emily
Koerner, Alanna and McKenna Dehn, and Wesley Groot. He is further survived by 9
great-grandchildren and a sister, Lois Roderick; a niece, Dawn Dettlaff, two
sister-in-laws, Harriet and Sharon Berger; along with other nieces, nephews,
relatives and many dear friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his
in-laws, Rudolph and Margaret Berger; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben Roderick,
Eugene and Pat Berger, Charles and Katherine Andresen, Rudolph Berger Jr.,
Bernard and Margaret Books, and William Berger. Bob greatly enjoyed spending
time with his family at Door County, Minocqua and Uncle Bill's cottage. He also
loved attending his grandchildren's events. He was a member of the 32nd
Division of the Army National Guard, and was called to active duty during the
Cuban crisis in 1961.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Bob on Thursday, January 25,
2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the corner
of Knapp St. and 6th Ave. in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held at the
church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be Sacred
Heart Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to send a special thank you to
Father Matt Simonar and Jim, from St. Jude, for their care and support, and also
to Heartland Hospice, especially Christine, Sara and Dani and to Sara from
Almost Family. Your care and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. In lieu
of floral expressions, the family will be establishing memorials in Bob's name
for both St. Jude Parish and Heartland Hospice. I love who I am when I am with you. You are my deepest love, my dearest friend. And I can't wait to see you again. Love, Ann.
