Robert Mathias' Obituary
Early Saturday morning, May 2, 2015, Robert "Bob" A. Mathias, age 65, of Oshkosh, passed away at home after a short illness. He was born September 17, 1949 in Garrison, ND to William and Irene (Allers) Mathias. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Mathias, of 13 years, brother Rick (friend Tamie Childers) Mathias, sister Kathy (David) Ziehm, two sons Randall (Angelia) Mathias, Christopher (fiance Carry Kwakkel), two daughters Tammie Whitty, Heather (Doug) Schultz, stepdaughter Jamie Marschall, grandchildren Corey, Jacob, Amanda, Tiffany, Bendigo, Evan, Brighton, Ava, Aubrey, Estella and Landon and seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents; William and Irene "Nanny" Mathias, brother James "Jim" Mathias, sister Sharon "Sheri" Fisher, nephew William "Billy" Mathias, and niece Alyssa "Aly" Fisher. In his younger years Bob worked as a carpenter, building houses alongside his Dad. After he began a long career working at Morgan Doors, he still enjoyed woodworking, often giving wood crafts for gifts. He enjoyed, fishing, hunting, and watching sports, he was a huge fan of the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Nascar. He also enjoyed making treats for his wife's co-workers at Menards, and would always show up to every cookout with his famous beans. After retiring from Morgan Doors, his favorite past time was to pick up his granddaughter Stella from school and take her to gymnastics.
Funeral services for Robert will Be Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 7:00 pm In the Fiss and Bills Poklasny Funeral Home, the Rev. Wm. Van de Kreeke officiating. Burial will be Thursday in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Tilleda WI. Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday from 4pm Until the time of services.
