Roger Gilligan's Obituary
Roger F. "Bud" Gilligan, age 83, of Oshkosh, died on Wednesday evening October 15, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. Roger was born in Gillett, WI on October 7, 1925 the son of Lyle and Esther (Falck) Gilligan. He married Joyce Mae Alsteen on June 1, 1957 in Lena, WI at St. Charles Catholic Church. Roger was employed at Morgan Door for over 34 years retiring in 1988. He was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic Church in Oshkosh, member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and the Honor Guard. Roger was an avid Packer fan for over 60 years, Brewer fan, he enjoyed playing sheepshead, cribbage, he loved listening to dixieland jazz, big band and barbershop music. Roger is survived by his wife Joyce Mae Gilligan of Oshkosh, one sister Anita McArdle of Weston, CT, two sisters-in-law Maria Gilligan of West Minster, MD, Joyce R. Gilligan of Stevens Point, WI and Special cousin Patricia Wilson of Crandon, WI. Special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Lylas Fredrickson, Lois Gilligan and twin sister Ramona Pfeiffer. Two brothers Malcolm Gilligan,DDS and Russell Gilligan. Funeral Services will be held at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home on Saturday October 18, 2008 at 1pm. Father William Van De Kreeke will officiate. Visitation will be held at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home on Saturday October 18, 2008 from 11am until 1pm. Private entombment will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the American Heart Association.
