Roger L. Meyers' Obituary
Roger L. Meyers, age 79, of Omro, passed away on February 8, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on March 7, 1935 in Green Bay, a son of the late Gerald and Mildred (Van Vegel) Meyers. He graduated from Oshkosh High School Class of 1954 and served his country in the US Army from 1954 until 1956. Roger married the former Barbara Jean Brantmier on May 24, 1958 in Oshkosh. He could fix anything and after the Army he repaired cars and then worked for Scharpf’s Office Machines buying the office machine division in 1971 and he sold Meyer’s Office Machines in 1991. He and Barb then spent the next 16 years in teen foster care. Roger greatly enjoyed making numerous pieces of furniture in his workshop and completely finished the interior of their present home. His love of sail boating both summer and winter lead to his hobby of outfitting and sailing remote controlled sail boats. Other than being in his workshop, he really enjoyed morning coffee in Omro with the ROMEO’s (retired old men). He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; two sons, Jeff and Rick both of Omro; two brothers, Carroll (Kay) Meyers of Schwartz Creek, Michigan and Gerald (Marlene) Meyers Jr. of South Milwaukee, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Joyce) Meyers.
