I taught 7th grade in St John’s in 1968-9 with Roger. My parents had moved to Menasha from Long Island as my father worked for the American Can Company. I had come back from Europe with my wife Lilia who I had met in Bulgaria. Roger was a nice guy who told me of working in a funeral parlor where his job was to make sure nothing happened during visitations. I often wondered what became of Roger as I left Wisconsin after my parents went back East. He made us feel less alone. By coincidence I had gone to Beloit College and graduated from the college just before my parents moved to Menasha from Long Island am very sorry I never got to meet Roger later on Thomas McGonigle [email protected]

Roger was a wonderful and beloved friend, husband, father, and grandfather. He was known by many for his wit and wisdom, especially as he displayed it in his weekly column, "Becoming Our Best Selves," in the St. Jude Sunday bulletin. His humor and playfulness came through his stories of his daily morning communing with his backyard wildlife, especially his "chippies." Rest in peace in the arms of Our Lord, my friend. You were loved and you loved well. To Paula and the rest of the LeBouton family, my love and prayers are with you all. Thank you for sharing Roger with us.
