Roger W. Schuhart's Obituary
Roger Schuhart, 83, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on March 20, 2023, peacefully with family by his side.
He was born in Oshkosh, WI on July 19, 1939, son of late George and Dorothy (Kroll) Schuhart. As a boy growing up on the west side of Oshkosh, he spent his time on the greens of Lakeshore Municipal (Muni) Golf Course and many would say he lived there. He attended Oshkosh High School and graduated in 1959. Shortly after graduating he met the love of his life Marilyn (Stapel), and they were married on November 25, 1961. Together they raised three children. They were married nearly 54 years until she was called to heaven in 2016. It was always important for him to ensure that he provided for his wife and children. He retired from the Continental Baking Company after many decades of service as a Route Salesman. An accomplished golfer who won the Oshkosh City Tournament eight times between 1962-1982. He had numerous hole-in-one's and was especially proud when he aced the 230-yard #9 hole at Lakeshore in September 2013 which was the second of the season at the age of 74. He was inducted into the Friends of Lakeshore Hall of Fame at Lakeshore Municipal Golf Course in 2014. He relished sharing his devotion to golf with his children and grandchildren which included taking his grandkids to Lakeshore to play golf or caddy. He played at Lakeshore for over 65 years. After the closure of Lakeshore, he spent his later years at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, WI with his golfing buddies. He made many lifelong friends through the game of golf that he held dear to his heart.
His greatest treasure was his wife Marilyn, and he enjoyed his life with her. He enjoyed sitting outside in the warm sunshine sipping coffee or taking long walks. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, Go Pack Go. Spending time at family events and celebrations was the joy of his life. It was also important to spend some of his free time meeting friends for coffee. A lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. He took every opportunity to attend a service and prioritized his service to God making it a central part of his life.
He is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his children Robert, Laura (Charles) Reynolds, Randy and his sister Julia Holdren. He is also survived by nine grandchildren (Amber, Will, Ashley, Andi, Taylor, Jacob, Robert, Roger Jr, and Isabelle); eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy; his wife, Marilyn; a brother, Greg (Carol), and sisters, Sally (Michael) Kasper, Susan (Sam) Immel and a brother-in-law, James Holdren.

A time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9 am until the time of service. Rogers family would like to give a special thanks and share gratitude to the team at Aurora Oshkosh and Aurora St Lukes in Milwaukee.
