ROSE DUEX's Obituary
Our beloved Rose Marie Duex, age 100, went to heaven September 11. 2014. She was born in Oshkosh on March 20, the first day of spring, in 1914, the daughter of Matthew and Catherine Drexler Duex.
Rose spent her life serving the Lord through her kindness, devotion and love. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s parish. She worked for Kronzer’s Grocery Store, Harmon Insurance Agency, and for Monsignor DeWitt in Green Bay. Her truest passion was caring for others. Rose spent decades taking care of her family, visiting nursing homes, attending Mass. and volunteering at Father Carr’s. She never missed an opportunity to make someone feel special and sent hundreds of birthday cards a year. One of her proudest moments was receiving “Aunt of a Lifetime Award” from her adoring family. Rose was humble and sweet, a blessing to all who knew her.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Doris Duex, nieces, Karen (Gary) Reimer, Patricia (Howard) Blades, Kathleen (Robert) Shafer, Kristine (Robert) King, Barbara (Larry) Parkinson, Beverly (Gary) Brewer, Kathy (Jeff) Schnell; nephews Ronald Constance) Koch, William (Karen) Koch, Richard (Denise) Koch, Kenneth (Colleen) Koch, Thomas (Ellen) Duex, Timothy (Cathy) Duex, Todd (Peggy) Duex, Harold (Paula) Duex, Kenneth (Diana) Duex, Stephen (Stacy) Duex, Wallace Fraser, and David Oliver; 41 great-nieces and nephews, and 58 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret Tranel and Kathryn Koch; brothers Theodore Duex, Joseph Duex, William (Ky) Duex, Harold (Fritz) Duex, and henry (Heinie) Duex; sisters-in-law Gertrude Duex, Sylvia Duex, and Lucille Duex, brothers-in-law Robert Tranel and Wilbert Koch; nieces; Kathleen Oliver, Diane Fraser, Ellen Duex, and nephew Ted Duex.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 27, at 11:00 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (St. Mary’s worship site) with the Rev. Jim Jugenheimer officiating. Entombment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
